There’s An Angry Bear Eating My Arm

So, I don’t know how everyone else’s Monday is going but I’m having a rather unpleasant day.

I’m researching for an upcoming post and started my morning at the CVS Minute Clinic near me. While I was there, I used the opportunity to get some routine stuff taken care of since I’m currently on the hunt for a new doctor. I really don’t like the one I found last year so I’m on the prowl for a new primary.

It has not been fun.

It turns out I have a urinary tract infection because… well, why wouldn’t I have one?

Truth be told, I had suspicions, hence why I was even tested for it but it’s really not what I wanted to hear.

THEN I was convinced to get a flu shot.

Now, as far as I know, I have never had a flu shot before in my life. At the very least I’ve never had one as long as I’ve been responsible for my own care. I was hesitant to do it but my insurance covered it and given the severity of this current flu season, I went for it. Especially since people at work have been coming down with it and I got sick at the end of the last year.

Not taking any chances.

Following the flu shot, we decided we were having so much fun sticking me with needles, I got a series of delightful intramuscular injections. I don’t remember what it was but I was warned that it was going to be unpleasant.

Unpleasant was a mother-effing understatement ya’ll.

I ended up sitting there for about 15 minutes, not able to move because the THOUGHT of motion hurt and actually moving KILLED. Thankfully she had a ton of paperwork to do and prescriptions to sent to the pharmacy. She kept asking if I was okay and I just kind of grunted at her.

When it comes to the pain scale, I usually keep myself on the low end. When she was asking about the potential for a UTI, I rated the discomfort I was feeling at a 2.

This shot. It was like a 7.5.

I got the shot five hours ago and moving my arm still KILLS. I ended up calling out from the restaurant because of how much pain I was in. At first I thought I was over-reacting but the reality is my shift would be starting in about 30 minutes and everything still hurts.

I’m typing with one hand right now.

This isn’t fun.

It feels like wild animals are gnawing on my arm.

Now I’m sitting here, knowing I need to eat because of the stupid antibiotics. I ate before I took them but that was this morning and after the coma I took, I need some food.

Someone bring me food? I’m craving sushi… the place I like doesn’t deliver.

My first world problems are real.

Is popcorn considered a meal?
